Joe Sylvester

World Amateur Champion 1983 and 1988 World Cup winner.

Sylvester won the World Amateur Championship in Las Vegas in 1983 and the 1988 World Cup of Backgammon, and was widely regarded as the best tournament player for roughly a decade. He entered the American Backgammon Hall of Fame in 2018.
